Dear Friends,
As we step into another beautiful season here at Floyd Cove Nursery, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. This past year marked our first as the new stewards of this incredible place and what a year it has been!
When our family moved here, we knew we were stepping into something special. We admired Floyd Cove’s legacy but living it day to day has deepened our appreciation in ways we could never have imagined. Our days have been filled with sunshine, soil, and a steady stream of lessons from learning how to outsmart weeds, protect tender seedlings from pests, and work through Florida’s summer heat that tests both patience and sunscreen. But through every challenge has come immense joy.
We are deeply thankful to Guy and Karen Pierce, whose talent, vision, and dedication built Floyd Cove into the world-class nursery it is today. It’s an honor to carry forward the legacy they created with such passion and care.
The nursery has become not only our business, but our home. It is the heart of our family’s life. We’ve embraced the rhythm of early mornings in the garden, the laughter of our boys running between the rows, and the peaceful evenings when the setting sun glows across the fields of blooms. There is a deep and steady happiness in growing something beautiful, and we understand why so many people are captivated by daylilies. They truly are magical.
Most of all, we have been welcomed by the most wonderful community, the daylily family. From hybridizers and collectors to home gardeners and long-time customers, each of you has made this journey so meaningful. Your warmth, generosity, and shared passion have shown us that this is more than a business. It’s a family built on beauty, creativity, and connection.
As we continue the legacy of Floyd Cove, we do so with full hearts and are eager to learn, grow, and create alongside you. Thank you for being part of this adventure with us. We look forward to many more years of blooms, friendship, and shared joy ahead.
With gratitude and smiles,
Toby, Shelley, and Sons
